I Wear Stripes When I Want To Be Spotted

    (feat. ‘Punyus’)

Plus size fashion blogger Horror Kitsch Bitch's 5 Days of Punyus, featuring Japanese Plus Size Clothing Label by Naomi Watanabe

Ok, so i’m sure you don’t hate me but… I FAILED AT 5 DAYS OF PUNYUS. Well, I failed at 5 consecutive days of Punyus. When I got home late last night after a huge day at the Melbourne Fashion Week Plus launch event (and was already running on very little sleep) I just couldn’t. But really, let’s just think of it as building suspense and anticipation! *shh, that works*

My feature Punyus piece today is this ADORABLE yellow and white striped (I want to say synthetic chiffon…?) romper. It has the teeniest tiny twerking butt sticking out of a parfait/martini glass embroidered on the chest – it seems Punyus loves a twerking butt, be it human or feline?!

I actually just discovered that a lot of the illustrations found on Punyus pieces are by a Japanese (presumably?) artist called NoncheLEE (aka “Non Cherry”). I can find sweet fuck all about them online, but let’s just say they have a SERIOUSLY unique and distinctive style. Check this link out for some more samples of their stuff:

But back to the romper. It also comes in a light pink and a black, and trust me – it was a TOUGH CHOICE. I’m trying to wear more yellows/oranges/reds etc so I pushed myself to buy the yellow and (aside from my recent lusting of all things egg-ish) i’m so glad I did!

    Anywho, without further ado!

On the fourth day of Punyus, Naomi gave to me – a romper that’s super stripey!

    THE CUT & FIT

I am absolutely obsessed with the cut and fit of this romper! It hits right under my bosom (belt wasn’t included but added for dramatic effect) and the pants part is super full and flowy. And guess what? POCKETS. It’s such a dream to wear. I just need to retrofit some sort of crotch clasp for easy toilet time, and I can literally live in this thing.

    THE QUALITY

Again, I haven’t washed it. But I can report it FEELS like quality. The pants part is lined (not the top/bodice section), and it has a really neat closure arrangement: it buttons over the boobs and then as soon as it hits the middle seam, it’s a zip! So cool!

    THE COST

This was the most expensive thing I bought at Punyus – it was around JPY 8600/ AUD $112 / USD $85 – but it’s currently on special for JPY6500/AUD/$85/USD$65.

    THE SIZE I’M WEARING

I’m wearing the 4 in this piece – mostly because of boobies. I think if you have more of a pear shape you could definitely size down, because the hips are very full.
